British Fencing has made the decision to de-nominate the Budapest EFC U23 competition on 17th – 18th November 2018. We have concerns over the quality and depth of the competition and therefore its value for athlete development purposes to GBR fencers.
As a result, Aix-en-Provence Junior World Cup (19th – 20th January 2019) will now be a nominated individual and nominated team Junior World Cup. Selection for the Men’s Foil team for the Junior European and Junior World Championships will be made after this competition. All other selections for the Junior European and World Championships will be unaffected and take place at the originally scheduled date.
Due to the short period of time between this event and the Junior Europeans, British Fencing will be exploring pre-booking flights for the Junior Men’s team as part of a group booking.
