VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED FOR GLL CAMDEN CADET SABRE AND CAMDEN INTERNATIONAL MEN’S SABRE SATELLITE

British Fencing are hosting the GLL Camden International Cadet Sabre Tournament, and Camden International Men’s Sabre Satellite on the 29th/30th October 2016 at the Copper Box Arena on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We are urgently seeking volunteers for the following roles:

1. To assist in setting up the venue on Friday afternoon – we have access from 15:00 on Friday 28th October, and are looking for volunteers to work with our armoury team to help lay pistes and set up scoring equipment.

2. The Camden International Men’s Sabre Satellite Tournament is forming part of the FIE pilot for the new sabre on-guard lines. The FIE are sending a dedicated observer to the event to see how the new rules impact the fencing. We have been asked to source 4 volunteers who have basic IT skills to work with the observer from the L64 onwards to record information about how referees award the hits (we have not been given any further information than this at this stage). You would be required to be at the venue for 09:30am on Sunday 30th October, and ideally be able to bring your own laptop, tablet or smartphone to run the web based application provided by the FIE (WiFi will be available).
Full training will be provided, and refreshments plus reasonable travel expenses will be available in line with the British Fencing expenses policy.

If you are interested and able to help with either/both of these opportunities, please get in touch with Katie Rhodes as soon as possible.
