ADMIN SECRETARY REQUIRED: SOUTH WEST FENCING

South West of England Fencing are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to become their administration secretary, to start as soon as possible.

The region is looking for an enthusiastic individual to become part of the South West administration team. A candidate with a knowledge of fencing is not required, but would be useful.

This is a voluntary role, and will require roughly two hours of work per week.

Please note: anyone taking on this role will need a DBS check and Safeguarding & Welfare training via British Fencing. The region will assist with this.

The administration secretary duties will include:

Communications

• Email communication – dealing with email queries, dispersing information to clubs and coaches.
• Website – you will be required to manage SWEP’s website, keeping it up to date with results and other information. Ideally the candidate should look towards rejuvenating the site.
• Facebook – this is SWEP’s main form of communication to share information.
• Instagram – ideally the candidate will have knowledge of using Instagram to help promote SWEP activities.
• The candidate will need to liaise regularly with SWEP’s stakeholders such as the Chairperson, the Vice Chairperson, clubs, coaches, referees, British Fencing, England Fencing etc.

 

Event Planning

• Co-ordinate training days across the region for coaches, referees and fencers.
• Arrange committee meetings, arranging dates, agenda and minutes (annual general meeting to be organised in July/August) – meetings usually held on Zoom.
• Ordering and purchasing branded goods, such as medals, tops etc.
