The countdown is on, with 100 days to go until the 2026 Para Fencing European Championships, as activity builds both on and off the piste. The deadline for volunteer applications is 31st July 2026.
Momentum continues to grow ahead of the Para Fencing European Championships, with community engagement already making an impact. We have been working with Disability Sport Wales and Literacy Kicks, who have delivered their first workshops in Cardiff to introduce young people to the sport and develop their storytelling skills through fencing.
Speaking about the sessions, Gareth Walker from Literacy Kicks said:
“We had the first workshops at Alderman Davies Primary today and they were brilliant. All of the children got fully involved, asked loads of questions and produced some super newspaper reports.”
The workshops form part of a wider programme to connect the championships with local communities, inspiring the next generation through both sport and education.
Volunteer sign-up applications close on 31st July 2026, with a wide range of roles available to support the delivery of the event. Further details and application guidance can be found on the 2026 Para Fencing European Championships volunteer opportunities page.
