Selection Notes

Qualified

• Individuals (L32 or better in Senior World Cups/Grand Prixs) indicated by (Q) below
• Teams (top 12 World Ranking (WR)): Mens Foil

 

Discretionary

• Team: Men’s Sabre (top 16 WR)
• Individuals:
  • Where no athlete or team in a weapon has qualified the no 1 FIE ranked athlete has been selected (subject to minimum ongoing training and competition participation  – WF – Kate Beardmore (108 WR),  WS – Aliya Itzkowitz (148 WR). This is because we are in Olympic qualification year and no assumption should be made regarding future use of discretion in this way.
  • In addition, 2 other athletes have been selected – WS – Caitlin Maxwell due to Junior medal record and trajectory,  ME – Phil Marsh due to outstanding consistency of performance (3 L64s and 3* L96s this season at Senior GP/WC level).

Further selections will take place after the European Championships.

Instructions for Athletes

Athletes will be emailed with a link to confirm selection. This will require payment of the £55 individual entry fee. More information will be emailed in due course and published on the website.

Please note the schedule which differs from the European Championships.

Athletes must arrive in Budapest 2 days before their first day of competition. Athletes participating in the team event must not arrange return flights on the day of the team event.
