2022-23 GBR SELECTION POLICY – PARA FENCING CONSULTATION

Following community feedback, the para fencing section of the GBR Selection Policy has been re-drafted and is now being release for a second round of community consultation.

Following the publication of the original draft GBR Selection Policy, there was extensive community feedback. A number of conversations were subsequently held with individuals – athletes, coaches and parents.

BF and the EIS (who operate the para fencing World Class Programme) have worked together to significantly redraft the selection standards and provide more information within the policy as to the application.

The Draft Section 11 – Para Fencing Selection Standards can be found here.

Once approved, this will be inserted into Section 11 of the overall GBR Selection Policy (here), which lays out the overarching framework – eg governance, operation of selection panels, eligibility criteria and discretionary factors.

This consultation welcomes feedback on either the overall GBR Selection Policy in relation to para fencing or the Draft Section 11 – Para Fencing Selection Standards or both.

The consultation period will run from 26th September to Thursday 13th October at midnight.  Members are able to respond to the consultation by submitting questions and comments using this online form: Click here
