2022 CADET AND JUNIOR A BRC

Cadet A BRC (all weapons) : 3rd September 2022
Junior A BRC (all weapons) : 4th September 2022

Venue:  David Ross Sports Village, University of Nottingham, NG7 2RD

Membership Level Required: Compete Membership

Age:

Juniors – under 20 on 1st January 2023, i.e. born 2003 and at least 13 on the day of the event

Cadets – under 17 on 1st January 2023, i.e. born 2006  and at least 11 on the 1st January 2023

Format:

C&J ‘A’ BRCs – The format will be one round of poules,  followed by DE with repechage from 32.

Junior events will not count towards Cadet Rankings.

Ranking Multiplier: The ranking multiplier will be 175.

Entry Fee:  £65. Please note due to scheduling, participants are only able to enter ONE weapon a day.

Entry Opening Date: Monday 4th July 2022 (Midday)

Late entries: After the closing date may be accepted at the late entry fee (£125)  at the organisers’ discretion.

Field of Play Restrictions

Field of Play Accreditation will be in place at the event.

Poules- Other than the referees and competition officials no one other than the athletes are permitted in the field of play.  If an athlete requires additional (non-coaching) field of play assistance during the poules please contact [email protected] so we can discuss appropriate arrangements.

DE- During the Direct Elimination matches: Each athlete, for the duration of their bout is allowed one nominated accredited person within the Field of Play . ONE accredited coach or, in the absence of a coach, ONE accredited member of BF.

There may be designated areas for these accredited nominated individuals to stand.

Once the athlete has finished fencing these accredited nominated individuals are expected to immediately leave the field of play, to allow the next match to commence.

The deadline for Field of Play Accreditation closes Tuesday 30th August at 5pm.

Club Information: Fencers should confirm their club is up to date on their membership profile before entering, as no changes will be allowed on the day of the competition.  Clubs must be registered with British Fencing.

Equipment:  All fencers must wear correct kit as per British Fencing rules.

Sabre Gloves: This will include 800N sabre gloves as per the rule at http://www.britishfencing.com/news/latest-news/?n=841

Foil Chest Protectors m.25 4(c) – Any athlete competing wearing a chest protector (mandatory for Women’s Foil, optional for Men’s Foil) at Cadet, Junior, U23 or Senior BF ranking events must ensure they are FIE standard chest protectors (those covered with an FIE approved soft layer).

Medical: There will be a medical teat the event throughout. They will be seated in an area clearly marked as MEDICAL.

Welfare: There will be a dedicated welfare officer at the event who will be clearly visible throughout. All welfare issues that arise at the event must be reported to the welfare officer present.

Sustainability: As part of BFs commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our sport, no single-use plastic bottles will be permitted on the field of play. We hope that the community will support efforts in this area and ensure that everyone brings re-useable bottles to the venue. Where possible, re-useable bottles will be on sale.
