The Explore Fencing app, with all games, activities and supporting materials, will move from the App Store and Google Play to the online BF Learning Zone by April 21st, 2026.
The BF Explore Fencing app was launched in 2020 with the aim of making fencing more accessible, engaging, and easy to introduce across a wide range of settings. Since launch, 2,730 users have accessed the app and it is now evolving to integrate into BF’s Learning Zone.
Designed as a free-to-download platform, the Explore Fencing app has allowed users to explore a variety of interactive fencing games that helped build fundamental skills in a fun and approachable way. By removing barriers to entry, BF is able to support beginners, schools, and community groups in discovering the sport without the need for specialist equipment or prior experience.
As we continue to evolve and improve how we deliver our resources, we will be closing down the Explore Fencing app in its current form on the iOS App Store and Google Play. All of the features currently available on the app, such as the games, activities, and supporting materials, will move to the online BF Learning Zone. There are ongoing improvements to the BF Learning Zone, under the supervision of BF’s new Digital Learning Manager, Abhishek Sudhakar. In the meantime, app users will still have full access to everything they currently have access to now, just in one centralised location that makes it easier to navigate. The move will also allow BF to update and expand resources more efficiently.
Harry Brown, BF Head of Partnerships (Education, Leisure & Commercial), says:
“At its core, the app has always been about helping anyone get started with fencing in a simple, accessible way. Whether it was complete beginners trying fencing for the first time or schools introducing it to new groups of students, the focus has been on creating an easy and welcoming entry point into the sport. By moving these resources into BF’s Learning Zone platform, we are continuing that mission and ensuring that getting started with fencing remains straightforward, inclusive, and accessible to all.”
Enrolled app users, including We Are Forging Futures school partners and CPD paid users, will receive an email confirming their ongoing access to the BF Learning Zone.
