SABRE COACH REQUIRED: BATH SWORD CLUB

Bath Sword Club is looking for a Level 2 BF-registered Sabre coach for 6 hours a week (7-10pm Mondays and 7-10pm Thursdays).

Salary:  £30ph

Location: University of Bath, Somerset, BA2 1AY

Bath Sword Club is a thriving, well-established 3weapon club, with a large membership of all ages, and Junior and Senior club sessions running twice a week. Our Cadet, Junior, Senior and Veteran fencers regularly represent GBR, but we also have plenty of members who fence for fun.

We are currently recruiting an experienced coach to join our coaching team and oversee our Sabre cohort. Club nights are very well-attended, with lots of enthusiastic fencers across the three weapons.

 

Opportunities include:

  • Scope to develop fencers from beginners to representative
  • Interaction with the University of Bath Fencing Team & Futures Youth athletic development team
  • On-going support with your CPD
  • Opportunity to develop a school circuit in Bath

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver footwork, 1:1 and group coaching sessions
  • Development of Junior and Senior fencers to achieve their full potential
  • Prepare session plans
  • Work effectively within the club coaching group
  • To attend occasional competitions and training sessions outside regular club hours

 

Qualifications & Training:
  • Minimum Level 2 Sabre (or equivalent) qualified
  • On the BF Coaching Register

 

Work Experience:

  • Experience of coaching, at least intermediate level
  • An understanding of coaching styles and practical delivery
  • An understanding of long-term athlete development
  • Experience of engaging and managing a variety of age groups
  • Experience of developing a wide variety of abilities
