BRITISH FENCING IS SAD TO ANNOUNCE THE PASSING OF PROF JIM PERRY
It is with great sadness that British Fencing announce the passing of Professor Jim Perry. He was tragically killed in a road traffic accident last week on his way to giving fencing demonstrations at some of the schools he worked at. Jim was an extremely active coach in the South West region for over 20 years. He had taken early retirement from the armed forces where he served in the Signals Regiment. He was also an Arctic Warfare instructor to the SAS. Jim mainly taught in state schools giving young people the opportunity to try fencing which they may otherwise not had an opportunity to do so. He was also until recently working with James Davis and was very proud that he had been selected for London 2012. Our thoughts go out to his friends and family at this sad time.
