There are a good range of flights to Budapest Airport from airports across the UK.
Transfers
The organisers may offer a shuttle service which is one of the more expensive options to use (and therefore best for solo travellers arriving late).
Budapest has a fairly extensive and efficient public transport system. It is also cheaper than in most Western European cities. A wide variety of trams, buses, trolleys and metro trains run in the city. Night service is quite reliable, too. Be prepared for typical rush hours: vehicles are crowded and traffic can be rather slow.
