My Coaching Philosophy
Using the power of sport and physical activity, my aim is to bring enjoyment and drive personal improvement in peoples' lives, channelled through the sport of fencing I enjoy so much. My coaching style is a holistic approach, and I combine elements of my Sports Science background, sports psychology, health, fitness, nutritional, injury prevention and rehabilitation advice.

I have been involved in the sport of fencing for the last 25 years; competing on both a national and international level, and coaching in both London and Yorkshire. I have held fencing coaching jobs with; the London Borough of Enfield, Loughton Fencing Club, RLS Fencing Club, Queen Elizabeth Boys School, Connect Housing Association, The Royal Armouries, Woodhouse Grove School and the University of Leeds where I have been nominated as Club Coach of the Year on three occasions.

In order for a coach to show on the register we confirm that they meet *minimum* eligibility standards - in terms of suitable criminal record checks, minimum safeguarding training, and minimum entry level coaching qualifications. For more information on minimum standards please see here.

BF does not currently provide an additional verification process in relation to the other information supplied by coaches which shows above. Coaches can choose to provide as much or as little detail as they wish. However, if you have any concerns in relation to the information a coach is providing on the register you can contact us here.

Coaches are encouraged to work within their qualifications and competencies, and if they don't, they are not insured. For more information click here.

It is a sign of good practice that coaches have updated and recent (last 6 years) British Fencing coaching qualifications and assessments. For more information click here.
