CONSULTATION OPENS FOR 2024-25 BF RANKING SCHEMES

2024-25 Senior, U20, U17 & U14 Draft Ranking Schemes are published for community consultation until 24th May 2024.

The 2024-25 BF Ranking Scheme has been updated and now includes the NEW Under 14 Ranking scheme.

Key Adjustments

 

Under 14s

• The new scheme replicates the fundamental elements of the Under 17 (Cadet) scheme.
• Definition of an Under 14 fencer.
• Inclusion of the European Fencing Confederation (EFC) U14 ‘Festival’ – details yet to be announced by EFC at time of publication.

 

U17s (Cadets)

U14 Transition bonus from the U14 ranking scheme.

For the end of the 2024-25 Season, this will replace the BYC result used as the transition bonus for the 2025-26 season.

 

U20s (Juniors)

There are no significant changes.

 

U23s Scheme & Seniors

• Increased and redistributed the allocation of athletes considered NIFs within the system, which increases the ranking point scoring opportunities in the domestic circuit. This is in recognition of the growth of some weapons.
• Reduced fixed multiplier for smaller FIE Zonal events (less than 32 fencers).

The 2024-25 scheme consultation period will run from 9 to 24 May 2024. Members wishing to respond to the consultation should complete this online consultation response form.
