EFC UPDATES THEIR COMPETITION CALENDARS 2023-24

The European Fencing Confederation (EFC) has updated their Cadet competition calendar for the upcoming season.

The latest EFC calendar published on 15th July can be found in full here. It includes the current FIE Junior competitions within Europe, based on the latest information published on the FIE website which can be found here.

The key changes are:

  • The addition of an extra EFC competition making a total of 8 competitions for each of the six weapons
  • 6 competition per weapon listed as nominated competitions

The competitions have been added to the BF Master Calendar.

Please note that changes may still occur – all calendars (FIE, EFC and BF) will be subject to change, and in some cases this may happen at very short notice due to circumstances outside of BF’s control.

The Selection Point date is where the ranking data is locked and the selection process begins. See the GBR Selection Timelines here.

Nomination & selection timescales may be compressed – selections for nominated international competitions are traditionally scheduled six weeks from the competition date. BF reserves the right to use shorter notice periods for some selections where the necessary information is not available (for example, we may not have received the reglements/official information, the date of competition has changed, a competition is cancelled and a replacement is scheduled earlier).

General Reminders for all EFC events

Entry & Exit Requirements – athletes and parents need to review the requirements to enter those respective countries. Athletes and parents are also required to ensure they understand the requirements to return to the UK or their respective countries.

EFC Licenses will need to be purchased via the BF membership platform. This is a requirement to enter into these events. For more information click here.

Passport expiration dates should be checked to ensure that the country the athletes are visiting will allow them to enter with a sufficient length.

More details regarding international travel responsibilities can be found here.
