Selection information for the 2026 EFC U14 Fencing Festival in Cividale del Friuli, Italy.
The EFC U14 Fencing Festival will take place in Cividale del Friuli, Italy, from 26–27 June 2026. This post outlines how selection will be made, key dates, eligibility criteria, and where to find further information for athletes and parents.
This is the first EFC U14 Festival for which BF has selected fencers. The final selection point is Tuesday 5 May 2026.
Selection will follow the GBR Selection Policy. Specific guidance relating to the EFC U14 Festival can be found in section 14.2 of the policy.
At the selection point on Tuesday 5 May 2026, the U14 rankings data and selection data used for this event will be frozen. No results or data achieved after this date will be counted.
The selection will be made and published in the week following the selection point. As with all nominated competitions, selections will be published on the BF website and invitations will be issued via Sport:80.
Selected athletes will be invited to accept or decline their place and pay the associated fees through Sport:80. Athletes will have 96 hours to accept their place, after which the place will be automatically declined and the next reserve will be invited.

This is a change introduced by the EFC for this season, reducing the number of available places compared to previous years from 8 places per category.
There is no team event.
Accommodation, travel and transfers are the responsibility of parents, in line with standard U14 and U17 EFC circuit events.

Equipment Requirements
All equipment must meet FIE safety standards and be checked ahead of the event. Blade size must follow U14 regulations and be size 5, consistent with the U14 Circuit.

Opening ceremonies are optional.
For each competition, the top 4 athletes will receive medals and certificates.
All athletes must wear their country or club tracksuit (jacket and trousers) on the podium, in line with EFC protocol.
