Entries are now open for the British Cadet & Junior National Championships weekend on 12th-13th September 2026. The weekend includes the Cadet (U17) and Junior (U20) National Championships, U14 BRC A – Epee and Sabre, and DEU Event – Epee. Entries close 26th August, 12pm.
The British Cadet (U17) & Junior (U20) National Championships 2026 weekend will take place on the 12th-13th September 2026 at the David Ross Sports Centre, Nottingham. As well as the Cadet & Junior National Championships, the weekend will include the DEU Event – Epee on Saturday and U14 BRC A – Epee and Sabre on Sunday.
The entry deadline for each event is 26th August 2026, 12pm.
British Cadet (U17) & Junior (U20) National Championships
This event is a pre-requisite event for any athlete wishing to be selected for Great Britain at Junior and/or Cadet FIE or EFC competitions. This event is only open to those fencers who are eligible to be selected for GBR.

DEU Event – Epee
This event is for D-, E- and U- Rated Fencers (aged 13+) and is an opportunity to gain competitive fencing experience against fencers of a similar ability level. Fencers can see if they are eligible to enter this event (by having a D-, E- or U- Rating by visiting the UK Ratings Athlete Search. This event will take place on Saturday 12th September.

U14 BRC A – Epee & Sabre
The event is an important highlight in the BF domestic competition series structure for any athlete who is intending to go on to future GBR Pathway and International fencing experiences. This event will carry the second highest ranking points available at a domestic event (175).
This event will take place on Sunday 13th September.

BF is mindful of the rising costs of attending fencing events and the potential barrier to participation this creates for some members of our community. As a result, BF is offering a limited number of free entries. These will be offered based on financial need, not on ability. This scheme will cover 100% of the entry fee cost.
Applications must be completed per athlete. For multiple athletes from one household, please complete separate application forms.
