EUROPEAN GAMES 2023 BF NOMINATION PANEL MEETING HELD

In accordance with the agreed and published policy and timescales, the BF Nomination Panel met on 17th May 2023 to finalise nominations for the 2023 European Games which starts on 21st June 2023. Selections will be announced by the BOA on 1st June 2023.

Nominations for the European Games were made by a Board approved Nominations Panel in accordance with the published policy (which can be found alongside the other current policies here).

At the meeting to finalise nominations, there were two independent observers present, one from the BF Board and one from the British Olympic Association (BOA).

Nominations by the Panel for the Europeans Games ware based on individual athletes or teams meeting the qualification standards (as were summarised here in September 2022, and incorporated into the final published policy here).

Nominated athletes will be individually contacted directly by BF prior to 24th May. Please note that BF is unable to publish nominations as all public information regarding European Games nomination and selection is strictly embargoed until 1st June as part of the conditions of participation in the Games.  Nominated athletes, their families and their coaches are also operating under this embargo.

Athletes meeting the qualification standard who have not been nominated have been contacted directly by BF and have a right to appeal (see here). For those athletes and any other athlete who has grounds to appeal, please note that the appeal deadline will be 2 working days (48 hours) from 5pm on the date of this news post.
