
BF-affiliated clubs are invited to express their interest in joining the new Club Circle (Communities of Practice Clubs Working Group). The newly formed group will be a critical friend to the BF Club Development Officer role and advise on how BF can practically support affiliated clubs. Expressions of interest close 24th July 2026.
“Hello Fencing Clubs,
My name’s Chris and I’ve recently started as the Club Development Officer for British Fencing. It’s a role that I’m really excited in stepping into as it’s my personal belief and also that of British Fencing, that sports clubs are the beating heart of their local community and are central in bringing people together to enjoy the many benefits that being part of a sports club entails.
To grow the sport of fencing and to help increase participation, sustainability and reach new audiences, I’m delighted to announce that we are now inviting expressions of interest from fencing clubs to form the brand-new Club Circle (Communities of Practice Working Group).

It is my intention for the group to act as a ‘critical friend’ to British Fencing, supporting my role with an objective of growing participation and sustainability in the sport whilst highlighting common challenges and proposing solutions.
