FENCING COACH WANTED – BATTERSEA FOIL

Battersea Foil is looking for a BF Registered Foil Coach.

From Battersea Foil Club:

Battersea Foil is looking for a new Coach to give individual lessons to our under 12&14 sections.

We offer competitive hourly rates and the candidate does not have to be highly qualified but must have been an international squad fencer for their country at either Junior or Senior level, with exceptional hand and timing skills.  We regularly have fencers in the younger age categories selected for internationals so helping to grow this group is a job mission.

Flexi working is also offered (e.g. help with occasional matches & events, free club membership, and other bonuses for assisting the Cadet group). You will be working alongside a Senior European medallist who has been with us for three years and we have a small network of former Senior internationals who come to spar and coach (irregulars). We do not have a hierarchy and encourage ‘spiral’ learning methods with positive reinforcement.

Battersea is a small up-and-coming club with good overseas and London connections, and we are keen to grow collaborative partnerships, especially within the UK. We invite applications from candidates who can develop links in these areas. The club has a 50:50 male to female ratio, and has a number of fencers on sponsored places, with the club running on a not-for-profit basis.

Parking is available and kit can be stored on-site.  Club sessions are on Wednesday evenings, and weekend mornings. We will consider different candidates for different days but would prefer someone who can do at least two of the days. Timekeeping and personal presentation must be excellent.
