GBR COACHING – COMBAT CLUB

Combat Club is the spirit cry of four Olympic combat sports who are working together to share insights and experiences with the aim of better-securing excellence in performance. 

Led by British Fencing, and uniting coaches from fencing, judo, wrestling and boxing, Combat Club provides a co-creative learning environment for combat sports strategists to reflect on and refine their practice, in the hope of taking athletes from good to great and from better to best.

Combat Club is a BF’s flagship and innovative coach learning initiative designed to deliver against our high performance strategic objectives and is supported by progression funding from UK Sport.

 

 

Warmly welcomed by one and all, Combat Club is a safe space for asking questions and issuing challenges, paving the way for growth and resolve in the competitive combat sports communities. At Combat Club’s heart beats the dynamics of action, reaction and interaction, where practical learning points are strengthened by a storytelling play-out and playback to promote deeper understanding and the power of purpose. 

 

Who is it for?

Coaches supporting fencers moving through the GBR performance pathway.

Coaches already working in high performance are able to share stories and challenges in order to work towards creating innovative coaching practices and solutions; however, Combat Club is open to all coaches supporting athletes across the GBR pathway, as we believe that every coach will gain from sharing experiences and knowledge with those from other combat sports.
