Junior Age Group Definition

Defined as fencers who are under the age of 20 on 1st January in the calendar year.

Minimum Ages for Competition

Senior and Junior events

New FIE rule o.29   (previously o.55)

With effect from the 2018/19 season, fencers must have reached their 13th birthday before they may apply for an FIE licence

New BF rule

From 1st January 2018, fencers must be at least 13 on the day of the event to compete in a junior or senior competition in the UK.
