After winning gold at the same event last year, Jaimie Cook returned to defend his title at the FIE Senior Foil Satellite in Amsterdam this weekend.

Jaimie Cook claimed victory at the FIE Senior Foil Satellite, which took place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 27th-28th September 2025. This is the second time that Jaimie has won the event, retaining his title from last year.
After winning all of his poule fights, Jaimie was seeded 1st in a field of 210. Earning a bye into the last 128, he defeated Jonas Moerbeek (NED) with a decisive 15-3 victory. Afterwards, he faced his GBR teammate William Lonsdale, where Jaimie won with a 15-6 score to take him to the last 32.
Jaimie next faced Jules Andriamampianina (FRA), clinching a 15-14 victory, before going on to defeat Michael Dijkstra (NED) 15-5 in the last 16. He then defeated Germany’s Rosario Vella 15-10 to secure a place on the podium.
Moving on to the semi-final, Jaimie won against Felix Klein (GER) with a 15-4 score. His fight for gold was against Alexander Kahl (GER). With strong and confident fencing, Jaimie claimed a 15-7 victory.

After his win, Jaimie said:
“Really delighted to have retained the title at this year’s Amsterdam Satellite – which I understand was the biggest Satellite ever, with 210 fencers competing. I felt confident in my fencing throughout the day, and it’s a great way to start the season. Excited to see what the rest of the year brings!
“A huge thank you to the Men’s Foil and Women’s Foil squad for their support, to the organisers and everyone working behind the scenes for running such a smooth competition, and of course to my dad/coach for always being there.”
GBR was well represented at the FIE Senior Foil Satellite, with 33 in the Men’s Foil and 19 in the Women’s Foil event. Well done to Joe Donaghue and Amelie Tsang on their last 16 finishes in their respective events, with Joe placing 12th and Amelie 9th.
