Maccabi GB

Maccabi GB and its affiliates are Britain’s leading Anglo-Jewish Sports, Health and Wellbeing Charity and has flourished for nearly 80 years. Part of a global movement operating in over 70 countries, our mission is to support the long-term future of British Jewry by engaging and developing the entire Jewish Community with a broad range of sporting, educational, social and health and wellbeing activities, whilst promoting Jewish Identity and the centrality of Israel.

Maccabi GB Fencing is looking to establish connections across the UK in order to establish fencing as a growing sport in the Jewish community and to engage current and new players to play more regularly. Our goal is to provide the Jewish community with the opportunity to play, compete and try out fencing in a professional and nurturing environment where they can also train to compete at international tournaments which we regularly attend.

The world games known as the Maccabiah Games are every 4 years in Israel and is the 3rd biggest sporting event attracting over 10,000 Jewish athletes from around the world. There are also the European Maccabi Games in the interceding two years. Since 2011 Maccabi GB has won 8 fencing medals at these International Games. The Games are inspirational events for the Jewish community and athletes take pride in representing their country where they may not otherwise get the chance to do so.
