Level 2 Referee Courses are managed by the Home Countries. When BF is informed of any courses, they will be published here. To promote and register your Level 2 referee course, please complete this form.

Level 3 and 4 assessments are held at identified competitions. Further information about Level 3 assessments can be found here, and Level 4 here.  To register your interest in the Level 3 process, please complete the application form here.

SUNDAY 18TH FEBRUARY 2024 SABRE LEVEL 2 THEORY AND PRACTICAL ASSESSMENTS

Date: Sunday 18th February 2024

Time: 08.30-18.00

Venue: King Edward VI School (KES), Chapel Lane, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6BE

Fee: £20

More course information: The course will be run by Michael Selig, an experienced FIE referee and British Fencing accredited Referee Instructor and Mentor. Applicants must be current members of British Fencing and have a good knowledge of sabre with competitive experience. The course will be run with a theory session in the morning and practical assessment in the afternoon as part of the LPJS Sabre. You do not need level 1 sabre to join this course.

The course has a maximum of 12 applicants. Applications are on a first come first served basis when fully paid.

LEVEL 3 – THEORY & PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT

TBC – 30-31 MARCH 2024 LEVEL 3 PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT

Birmingham International Fencing Tournament – practical assessment for those holding a level 3 theory only.  Details to follow once confirmed

LEVEL 4 (MOCK FIE) REFEREE ASSESSMENTS

A 3 weapon Level 4 mock FIE) seminar and assessment is planned to take place over the Closed Senior National Championship weekend 27th & 28th April 2024) – all level 3 and pathway referees are invited to register their interest
