NEW COACHING COURSE: ITCF SWINDON 28-29.10.2023

Bookings are open for the new Level 1 BF Coach Education course.

A new Introduction to Coaching Fencing (ITCF) course is scheduled for the 28th and 29th of October 2023 in Swindon (exact location to be confirmed in the upcoming weeks).

The course was developed for those with fencing experience who wish to start coaching, and also people who have an interest in working in a community setting, providing those first fencing experiences. The course will provide delegates with the skills and knowledge to deliver group sessions developing the basic skills of fencing.

Who should attend?

People from clubs and organisations with fencing experience, who are confident with the fencing actions.

Pre-requisites to attend the course

• 18 + Years old (16 & 17-year-olds are also welcome,  based on a suitable reference from eg their club)
• Experience in fencing (Ideally beyond 12 months) or a Core Coach qualification
• Hold a valid British Fencing membership

Commitment

The course is based on a modular approach with a combination of theoretical and practical content. The course consists of 2 days (16 hours) plus home study – Approximately 20 hours total

Become a registered coach

To become a British Fencing Registered Coach, you also are required to hold:

• A valid membership to British Fencing
• Current UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate or equivalent
• Current Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate
• A valid criminal records check.
