British Fencing is pleased to announce that Sam McLellan has just been awarded his new EFC C-grade . This was awarded after being observed across the last two seasons at EFC nominated competitions and is the first step towards being put forward to sit the FIE exam.

Sam has been a member of the Referee Pathway Program for two seasons.

On hearing the news Sam said “I am very pleased to have obtained the C grade after just over a season at the Cadet Internationals and look forward to continuing work towards my FIE exam. Many thanks to my coach Phil Carson for teaching me everything ‘fencing’, the FIE mentors for their constant and continued guidance and Nickie Bailey for letting me start, and not (yet) having let me stop!”
