SAVE THE DATE: BF LEARNING MONTH 23RD JULY – 21ST AUGUST 2026

BF Learning Month 2026 will take place between 23rd July and 21st August. This year will include the first online International Fencing Research Committee (IFRC) Conference. BF Learning Month is an annual opportunity for our members and wider community to join online developmental and informative sessions in subjects from coaching to community development.

Due to popular demand and feedback from previous iterations of BF Learning Week, BF has now extended the event to a Learning Month. Now named BF Learning Month, this year’s event will be taking place between the 23rd July and 21st August 2026.

Each week will have a different theme. So far, a week on the topic of club development is confirmed to take place week commencing 3rd August.

2026 BF Learning Month is also supporting the first online International Fencing Research Committee (IFRC) Conference. The IFRC welcomes leading researchers, coaches, and practitioners from around the world to explore the latest advances in fencing science and methodology. The IFRC is currently accepting abstract submissions, and more info can be found here.

Chris Turner, BF Head of Coaching & Workforce Development, said:

“The extension of Learning Week this year is a reflection of how popular the week has become. I’m excited that BF is working with the International Fencing Research Committee to share the latest research and looking forward to announcing more sessions in due course.”

Chris Bryden, who recently joined BF as Clubs Development Officer, added:

“We are currently in the process of looking to arrange a specific week focused around club development within Learning Month. As part of my role, I’m keen to support our club network with webinars and workshops that help the growth of clubs. Please watch this space for exciting updates.”

The timetable will be published shortly, and will include online sessions and discussion events.
