TBILISI 2026: CADET & JUNIOR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND-UP

The Cadet (U17) and Junior (U20) European Championships took place in Tbilisi, Georgia, between the 20th and 27th February 2026. GBR took home five medals in total. A mini round-up.

Referees

Referee Chiara McDermott represented GBR in foil and epee at the event. She refereed fights in the last 16 of the Junior Men’s Epee, as well as the last 8 of the Men’s Foil and Team Men’s Foil. Chiara was also a video referee for a last 8 fight in the Junior Women’s Foil and 16 and Men’s Epee. She also refereed the semi-final of the Cadet Women’s Epee, and assisted with video for the final of the individual Cadet Women’s Foil.

Sarah Steacy, associate Pathway member, also refereed at the European Championships. She refereed fights in the last 16 of the Junior Men’s and Women’s Epee, as well as the semi-final of the Team Junior Women’s Epee and Team Cadet Women’s Epee. Sarah was video referee for the semi-final of the Cadet Women’s Epee, and in the finals for the Team Junior Men’s Epee and Women’s Epee, she assisted with the video.
