Following a selection process, the UK Sports Institute confirms the list of para fencers who will be on the Para WCP programme for 2023-24.

The following athletes have been selected:

  • Piers Gilliver
  • Oliver Lam Watson
  • Josh Waddell
  • Dimitri Coutya
  • Shah Rashid
  • Gemma Collis
  • Emily Holder
  • Justine Moore

Matt Hammond, Para Fencing Performance Manager, said, “Building on from the success in Tokyo and last year at the European Championships, I am delighted that we can sustain and grow the athlete numbers in the pursuit of our Paris and Los Angeles goals. Additional support gained from UK Sport for the Wheelchair Fencing World Class Programme means we can extend the work being delivered in Bath and in home programmes to an exciting group of athletes for another year.”

Emily Holder, who joins the programme for the first time, said, “Over the years I’ve fenced, my passion for the sport and the inclusion of people living with Cerebral Palsy in it has only continued to blossom. I’m so grateful to everyone at the World Class Programme for the outstanding support for me to transform this passion into international success and giving me the chance to better represent my country.”
