UPDATED SELECTION PANEL DATES FOR SENIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023

As a result of FIE Calendar changes, the Senior World Championship Selection Panel Meeting will convert into a series of meetings by weapon to allow athletes as much preparation time as possible.

There has been a number of last minute changes to the FIE Senior calendar, which has pushed the end of the season later and affected some weapons more than others.

In order to allow athletes as much time as possible to prepare for the event, the Championships Selection Panel meeting will split into multiple meetings by weapon and take place on the following dates:

Men’s and Women Sabre – 16th May 2023
(Last ranking competition 13th May. Ranking as at 15th May)
Men’s and Women Epee – 22nd May 2023
(Last ranking competition 20th May. Ranking as at 22nd May)
Men’s Foil – 22nd  May 2023
(Last ranking competition 21st May. Ranking as at 22nd May)
Women’s Foil – 6th June 2023
(Last ranking competition 3rd June. Ranking as at 5th June)

Individual announcements will be posted as soon as possible following each Championship Selection Panel meeting.

As a reminder

1. All athletes seeking selection must meet the eligibility standards which includes submitting an up-to-date IADP – SELECTION REQUIREMENT- INDIVIDUAL ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT PLANS – BRITISH FENCING
2. Discretionary selection forms for unqualified athletes must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the date of the meetings. Before submitting discretionary forms please read the following page carefully. DISCRETIONARY SELECTION – BRITISH FENCING
