En Garde, Ready? is British Fencing’s Training Course to introduce clubs and volunteers to its welfare policies and guidelines.  It examines the role of a Welfare Officer and how they fit into the wider safeguarding agenda.

It is designed to help clubs create and maintain a series of policies and procedures based on British Fencing’s welfare policies and procedures for their own uses, reflecting best practice and in line with current legislation.

 

Who is the course for?

  • Essential training for any Club or Event Welfare Officer.
  • Essential for Club Committees and Club Administrators.
  • Useful information for Team Managers.

 

This course aims to:

  • Describe how a club or event welfare officer works with others to create a child-centred environment
  • Explain how the club welfare officer role fits into the wider safeguarding environment
  • Apply learning to case studies including sharing good safeguarding practice
  • Help Club Welfare Officers create and maintain Club Safeguarding policies and procedures.

 

Entry Level requirements:

  • 18 years of age and above
  • Must hold valid British Fencing membership
