In Safe Hands is Scotland’s industry wide safeguarding programme. It is most suitable for those acting as the club child protection officer but is also relevant for those responsible for managing or organising the club. Please note during 2020 this course will become Child Wellbeing and Protection Officer Training (CWPO). Until the CWPO course is launched Welfare Officers should complete the In Safe Hands training.        Updated 18.12.2019

Who is the course for

Mandatory for:

  • Registered coaches
  • Club or event Welfare Officer.
  • Team Managers.

Useful for Club volunteers.

 

This course aims to:

  • provide participants with core knowledge and the opportunity to develop skills in fulfilling their role as club child protection officer
  • help clubs implement practices and procedures to keep children and young people safe.

 

Entry Level requirements:

  • 18 years of age and above
  • Must hold valid British Fencing membership
  • Already hold a valid and in date UK Sport SPC certificate (valid for 3 years) -please bring the certificate with you.
