Following feedback received from members at the Chair’s Roadshows and also at the EGM, we are working hard to make sure we have the right details for each member on our database – and in particular that you understand the options available for receiving communications from British Fencing and you choose the right one for you.

Previously members would have just a single option through their membership profile – to opt out of all electronic communications. We have worked with Excalibur, our web and database partner, to improve the options available and to allow members to opt out of receiving various types of information as they prefer.

The options you now have as a member are:

– That you do not wish to receive electronic “company” correspondence from British Fencing Association Ltd. This option is for “company” information, such as official notices, eg  on General Meetings or Election correspondence;

– That you do not wish to receive general information from British Fencing. This is for general news, newsletters, releases, club or member information. It includes “To the Point”;

– That you do not to receive information from official partners of British Fencing. This option is for our sponsors, partners and suppliers who wish to send you member offers.

If at any point you wish to activate any of these options you can now do so by logging in to your membership profile and simply ticking the boxes you wish to activate. Click here to return to the Home Page of the site then click the red ‘sign in’ box and put in your email and password that you set up when you registered.  You will then receive a welcome message with an option to view your profile. Click on ‘view my profile’ the check box options will then be available for you to make any changes.

Those of you who have informed us already that you do not wish to receive any electronic communication, we have manually updated your profile with all three options activated. If this does not match your preferences going forward, please amend your profile as you wish.

Given that we have set up these options, we would be grateful if you could check that your profile options are accurate to ensure that the information we send you is what you want to receive. If at any point you believe you have received electronic communications in error or contrary to your preferred options, please contact British Fencing Head Office on [email protected] and we will rectify the problem for you personally. It is very important to us that you are not sent communications you do not wish to receive.
