A NEW OPPORTUNITY TO BRING FENCING TO YOUR LEISURE CENTRE

New for 2026, bring a unique and dynamic sport to your leisure centre with BF’s Leisure Partner Programme.

BF is bringing fencing to leisure centres across the country.

BF is offering leisure centres the opportunity to feature an Olympic and Paralympic sport in their activity offering. By partnering with us, you will be trained to deliver sessions that not only promote physical activity, but also foster personal development for a diverse range of individuals and communities.

Why fencing?
  • Increase social impact, increase social revenue: Fencing is the stepping stone to building the confidence needed to engage in physical activity. This will encourage a greater and more diverse participation in your leisure centre programmes.
  • Grow your revenue: By putting on new courses, you’ll attract new members, growing opportunities for people to participate in your centre’s activities.
  • Secure more contracts: By adding fencing – a sport not normally offered in leisure centres – to your activities, you’ll set your organisation apart from competitors and stand out from the crowd.

Regardless of age, ethnicity, background, or accessibility requirements, we have something to suit everyone.

  • Background: Deep-rooted inequalities in sport mean that people who are ethnically and culturally diverse are less likely to be physically active. Due to its level playing field and choice of uniform, fencing is an ideal way to get active.
  • Age: Fencing is for everyone, regardless of age. There have even been fencers as old as 90! Seated fencing is also a brilliant activity for those with mobility issues.
  • Accessibility: For fencers who can’t participate standing up, seated fencing is a great alternative, with more emphasis on blade work. Neurodiverse participants who may not enjoy more mainstream sports are often drawn to the creativity of fencing.

How can I introduce fencing at my centre?

The Leisure Partner Programme can be used for a variety of experiences, including:

  • Weekly sports courses
  • Holiday schemes
  • Themed birthday parties
  • Seated fencing
  • Resale opportunities (Achievement Awards and equipment)

Members of your centre can join in at term-time weekdays and weekends, or holiday time weekdays and weekends.

Jess Pearce, BF Partnerships Manager, said:

“We are really excited to begin working within the leisure sector and showcase everything fencing has to offer. From children’s weekly activities, birthday parties and holiday clubs, to exercise referral, over 60s sessions, social fencing, beginner programmes and more, fencing is the tool that can fill in any gaps in provision and encourage new audiences to visit the centre, with limited space and equipment needed. It really does have it all.”
