SCHOOL GAMES NATIONAL SUMMIT 2026

BF’s Partnerships Team attended the School Games National Summit in Telford last week, joining more than 500 delegates from the School Games network.

The BF team spoke to participants about bringing fencing to schools across the country.

The event brought together organisations from across the sector to share learning, celebrate impact, and explore creating meaningful opportunities for children and young people through sport and physical activity.

BF exhibited in the main arena, showcasing our programmes and discussing how fencing can support schools in delivering meaningful experiences for pupils. There was particular interest in our We Are Forging Futures and Leadership Through Fencing programmes, which provide valuable opportunities for both primary and secondary-aged pupils. Delegates were particularly keen to learn more about the role fencing can play in supporting SEND pupils.

As part of our support for the event, BF donated £500 worth of Explore Fencing CPD courses as a prize giveaway. We look forward to working with the winning organisation and upskilling schools in fencing.

About Leadership Through Fencing:

Leadership Through Fencing is a new programme, launched in partnership with the Leadership Skills Foundation. Aimed at 11- to 17-year-olds, the programme provides a one-day training session from BF’s Fencing Development Team, where participants will learn practical tools to be empowered leaders, which can be demonstrated through fencing. After the training, participants will be able to support fencing sessions in their local schools, clubs or communities while enhancing their leadership skills, with an award at the end.
