Why is there a new Safety Zone?
Fencing is one of the safest sports, thanks to the regulations in place around safety, equipment and accident reporting. Every fencer is responsible for ensuring that their personal equipment is in a safe condition (cf. Rules for Competitions t.20.1).
The newly launched BF Safety Zone aims to assist members and clubs in implementing BF’s Safety Guidelines.

Who publishes Safety Information?
The BF Safety Committee. The Safety Committee is a BF Standing Committee and they align with the general BF committee Terms of Reference as well as a specific Safety Committee Terms of Reference.

How can I ask a question or give feedback on the Safety Guidelines or Safety Zone?
To assist in the third output listed above: dealing with queries, the new Safety Zone also includes a form that members can complete if they require clarification on the BF Safety Guidelines, or have any feedback or suggestions for the Safety Zone.

a) All fencers that they have a duty of care to each of their opponents.
b) Everyone involved in fencing that all accidents, injuries, medical incidents and near-misses should be reported using the BF online report form available here.
