BF Senior Ranking Suspension

Following the announcement of enhanced social distancing measures from the Government on Monday 16th March, and the recent BF event postponements, BF will not award senior ranking points for any event taking place from today until at least 1st August 2020.

Under the current circumstances we must prioritise the health and wellbeing of our community and wish to remove the uncertainty with regards to short term competitive season planning.

The BF Senior Rankings will be frozen at the current (1st March 2020) level until at least 1 month after the resumption of ranking events. Any ranking events (including FIE events) that take place while the rankings are frozen will be included in the next calculation regardless of date.

Any decision by BF to resume ranking events will be guided by the latest government advice.

We appreciate your continued support and patience and we look forward to resuming ranking competitions later in the year. Please continue to follow the official guidance and look after yourself and each other.

For information and advice on COVID-19 please visit our dedicated page here.

More information for Event Organisers

Any event which is rearranged for a later date will not be charged a further event registration fee and will be exempt from the ranking event levy if it would otherwise apply.

Should current government advice change and organisers then wish to proceed with their event on a non-ranking basis they must ensure that their risk assessment is updated to include specific notice of COVID-19 and related official advice at the time in order to maintain insurance cover. Organisers must follow government guidelines at all times, this can change rapidly and therefore affect this insurance. BF reserves the right to request a copy of the risk assessment for review by the insurers.

Please note that we have been informed that if organisers choose to run an event against government guidelines (for example whilst the current social distancing measures are in place) they would not be covered by the BF insurance policy.
