COACH ACCREDITATION – BRITISH YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS MAY 2026

Accreditation is now open for coaches planning to support fencers at the 2026 British Youth Championships. Apply before 21st April, 5pm.

BF has opened applications for coach accreditation at the British Youth Championships (BYC), taking place on 2nd-4th May 2026 at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) Sheffield, Coleridge Road, Sheffield, S9 5DA. All coaches must complete accreditation before arriving at the venue.

Coaches based outside the UK who are supporting GBR athletes at domestic events should contact BF via the Development Team email for specific guidance.

Before You Apply

To begin the accreditation process, coaches must already hold either:

• A GBR Coach Licence (Annual) purchased through the Sport:80 Platform.
• A Single Event Coach Licence for the competition: View Single Event Coach Licence Information

To be eligible for accreditation, coaches must:

• Appear on the BF Coaching Register, available on the BF Coaching Register page.
• Hold a valid anti‑doping certificate, which can be obtained through the UKAD Education resources.

What Accreditation Includes

• Access to warm‑up and piste areas
• Permission to provide warm‑up lessons
• Access to the Field of Play during Direct Elimination and Team Matches (where applicable)

Important Notes

Accreditation does not grant:

• Access to the Field of Play during poules
• Access to referee, media or event‑organiser areas (unless specifically invited)

Coaches must leave the Field of Play once bouts conclude, and accreditation lanyards must be visible at all times.

Breaches of BF’s Code of Conduct may result in accreditation being revoked and GBR Coach Licences being suspended. Guidance can be found on the BF Code of Conduct page.

Application Deadline

The deadline for applications is Tuesday 21 April 2026 at 5pm. Applications submitted after this point may still be processed during the competition but will incur a higher fee.

Collection

Accreditation passes and lanyards should be collected from the event desk on arrival. Lanyards do not need to be returned after the event as they are event‑specific.
