COACH AND TEAM MANAGER REGISTERS UPDATE: FIRST AID REINSTATED AS MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

First Aid is reinstated as a minimum requirement for the Coach and Team Manager Registers. Certificates or declarations will be mandatory from 1st September 2021.

First Aid training will be reinstated back as a minimum requirement for the Coach and Team Manager registers from 19th July 2021, the expected date when all COVID social restrictions will be lifted in the UK.

The First Aid requirement has been suspended since the introduction of social distance measures in 2020, due to barriers to access or attend face-to-face training. During this period, Coaches and Team Managers unable to renew their expired First Aid training where still listed as compliant.

There will be a grace period during which Coaches and Team Managers should look for appropriate training to once again become qualified. This period is set to finish on 1st September 2021, to coincide with the start of the competitive season.

What’s required?

  • Coaches and Team Managers must have completed the Emergency First Aid at Work (6 hours) via face -to-face training.
  • Coaches also have the alternative of presenting a declaration that all the venues where they coach have sufficient First Aid provision. If this is the case, additional First Aid training is optional.

Certificates and declarations must be uploaded on the Sport80 membership platform (watch this short tutorial on how to upload certificates).
