You can vote for the image, taken by photographer Andrew Moss last year, at the British Photography Awards.
Photographer Andrew Moss has had a fencing image shortlisted for a major award.
It was taken at the British Senior National Championships 2023, held at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre in north London.
Andrew says: “The fencer on the left had no name [on his back] but the one on the right is [Oliver] Strange. I was lucky to find a clean background for this shot as they were on the mezzanine floor. I used a very slow shutter speed of 1/13th of a second to add some drama and hopefully produce an image with more to it than the usual “lunge and parry” shots.”
(Note: if you believe you might be the fencer on the left, please get in touch).
The image, called ‘Touche’, has been shortlisted in the British Photography Awards and there is a public vote to find the ‘People’s Choice’ award. This link will take you straight to the relevant page: http://www.bit.ly/3ToPxQc
The same image was also shortlisted in the Sony World Photography Awards last year.
