Grace Batey has joined BF as Performance Athlete Support Coordinator, with a holistic and athlete centred approach.
Grace holds both an undergraduate and master’s degree in Sports Psychology, building on a strong foundation of hands-on experience as a personal trainer and coach. Her passion for enhancing athletic performance through tailored support and holistic wellbeing was shaped by her own journey as an Olympic weightlifter — a sport she began at age 19 and quickly progressed to the national level.
“As an athlete, it’s incredibly challenging to keep all the pieces of the puzzle in place — nutrition, physio, injury prevention, sleep hygiene, mental skills, strength and conditioning, daily training, finances, and lifestyle all play a role in performance.”
Grace is driven by a commitment to maximize athlete potential by working closely with athletes, coaches, and clubs, ensuring that development plans are carefully tailored to each individual’s goals and effectively managed across all aspects of their sporting journey.
Previously, Grace contributed to UK Sport’s ‘Find Your Greatness’ talent campaign, where she played a key role in supporting athletes through the selection process and fostering a positive, growth-focused environment. Having worked across a wide range of athlete environments and contexts, she is excited to step into a new role where she can fully integrate a holistic, athlete-centred approach.
“I genuinely believe that for athletes to thrive, they need the right support — both inside and outside their sport. It’s truly exciting to take on a new position where I can help embed that holistic approach.”
