IWAS UPDATE: QUALIFICATION SYSTEM FOR PARIS 2024

IWAS announce the qualification system for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, as approved by the International Paralympic Committee.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will take place from 28th August to 8th September 2024. The qualification period is from 1st October 2022 to 31st May 2024.

For the Individual Paralympic Ranking Lists, the following results from official IWAS wheelchair fencing competitions during the qualification period will count for total ranking points:

  • Result from World Championships (2023)
  • Best result out of the 2 Zonal Championships (2022/2023 and 2024)
  • Best 6 results from the World Cups and Satellite Competitions in the qualification period (a maximum of 1 Satellite Competition can be included)

The Individual Paralympic Ranking Lists are shown on the IWAS website and Ophardt for all weapons across Men Category A and B and Women Category A and B.
