Coach Tutor: David Stobbs

Course Dates: 11th, 12th, 26th October, 2nd, 15th, 22nd November 2014

Times:

9am-5pm – 11th October

9am-12pm – 12th October

9am-1.30pm – 26th October

9am-1.30pm – 2nd November

9am-5pm – 15th November

9am-5pm – 22nd November

Venue: Sugden Sports Centre, 114 Grosvenor Street, Manchester M1 7HL (click here for map)

Cost: £195.00 (Includes Course Manual and assessment. There is an additional £20.00 cost for candidates wishing to study a second weapon. There is an additional cost of £40.00 for candidates wishing to study all three weapons (due to scheduling restrictions this is at the discretion of the Course Tutor)

Holding a recent First Aid and Safeguarding and Protecting of Children are requirements of registration on the coach register. Certificates will not be issued until all registration requires have been met. For more information about what you need to become a registered coach please visit the How to Become a Coach page.

Entry Level Requirement. 1 year fencing experience. If you have been teaching Go Fence or Mini-fence and would like to make a transition to metal fencing, please discuss this with the course tutor prior to application.

Candidates should also be a member of British Fencing prior to starting the course. If you are not already a member please sign up here.

Please note that the minimum age for enrolment is 17 (in the year of their 18th birthday). Candidates will not be issued their qualification until they turn 18 and have met all the other requirements necessary for registration as a coach. Applicants should send the registration form together with payment for the full course fee payable to British Fencing to Charlie Miller at [email protected] or by post to the Workforce and Business Development Coordinator, British Fencing, 1 Baron’s Gate, 33-35 Rothschild Road, London W4 5HT. Applicants may be self-funding, or part or whole funded by their clubs and/or through their County Sports Partnership (Coach Development Officer) and/or through England Fencing (Development Grants).
