Pentathlon GB is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual, working with the Development team to implement Pentathlon GB’s Whole Sport Plan.  The main development aims are:

  1. To provide opportunities for supporting the development of the English Talent Programme at national and regional levels.
  2. To increase the number of people participating in the sports of Modern Pentathlon as members of the Association and in particular competing in the different competition formats of the sport

Pentathlon GB is the national governing body for the sport of Modern Pentathlon with a rich history of Olympic success. We are seeking to recruit a Pentathlon Development Officer to manage and develop activity across the North, Yorkshire and East Midlands who has the drive and ambition to translate the National Strategy into action through co-ordination of coaches and organisers at a local level and to maximise opportunities to build capacity in our sport.

The role can be based away from our Head office at Bath University, and will have a requirement to travel.  The salary will be in the range £24,000 – £26,000 plus benefits.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a proven experience of developing sport, excellent people skills and the ability to deliver objectives.  This should include the ability to demonstrate experience in the majority of the following areas:

  1. Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the sporting structures in Great Britain.
  2. Previous experience of developing sport and encouraging participation.
  3. Able to demonstrate previous experience in managing projects, setting goals and achieving results.
  4. Able to form effective relationships and partnerships to enable the delivery of projects.
  5. Able to demonstrate an understanding of coordinating  and managing teams of people.
  6. Proven ability  to  effectively work as part of a team and if necessary be able to use initiative and lead peers when required.
