SELECTION POINT CHANGES TO GBR CALENDAR DECEMBER 2021

Date changes made to BF GBR calendar selection points due to cancelled international events and allowing for the festive break.

Updated: 09/12/2021

BF has reviewed the GBR calendar for international competitions across all ages and their respective selection points. In conjunction with the ADP, selectors and the points coordinators, the dates have been adjusted as some events that were originally scheduled during this period have been cancelled or postponed.

The changes to the calendar are set out below:

Sabre Events Old date New Date
EFC Cadet (Bucharest) Tuesday, December 21, 2021 10th December 2021
FIE JWC (Plovdiv) Tuesday, December 28, 2021 14th December 2021
FIE JWC (Segovia) Tuesday, December 14, 2021 10th December 2021

Foil Events Old date New Date
EFC Cadet (Roma) Tuesday, December 21, 2021 14 December 2021
EFC Cadet (Poznań) Tuesday, December 28, 2021 14 December 2021
FIE JWC (Zagreb) Tuesday, December 21, 2021 13 December 2021
Grand Prix (Torino) Monday, December 27, 2021 20 December 2021
FIE JWC (Aix-en-Provence) Tuesday, December 14, 2021 13 December 2021
EFC Cadet (Satu Mare) Tuesday, January 4, 2022 10 January 2022

Epee Events Old date New Date
EFC Cadet (Thessaloniki) Tuesday, December 14, 2021 10th December 2021
EFC Cadet (Krakow) Tuesday, January 4, 2022 10 January 2022
FIE JWC (Belgrade) Tuesday, December 28, 2021 10th December 2021

These changes will not prejudice any athletes as there were no scheduled ranking events taking place that would impact selections but the Cadet ‘A’ event in Manchester would now become a selection event for Krakow (Epee) and Satu Mare (Foil). It would however allow more time for BF to process the selections and athletes to organise for the trips and allow for the reduced resources during the Christmas break.
