GB Men’s Epee squad selected for the JWC event in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Competition Date: 18th and 19th November 2023.

Deadline to accept the invitation and make full payment on Sport80:  11:00 on Monday 23rd October 2023.

If you have not been selected for this event but are ranked within the top 15 for Junior Men’s Epee and are interested in attending this competition, please reach out to Ian Lichfield directly. Due to the complexity of the travel plan and the difficulty of sourcing additional referees for this event, only 9 have been selected.

FIE Licence – you need a licence to compete
You need a valid FIE licence for the 2023-24 season in order to compete at this competition. You must apply for this via Sport80 before accepting your place on this trip.

Hotel
Episode Hotel Tbilisi

• Parents should not book into the athlete hotel
• Rooms will only be booked for fencers. Personal coaches will need to make their own reservation.

Athlete Contributions
As the cost of travel and accommodation have increased due to the current climate we have had to increase the travel and administration costs to reflect this.

• Team Manager/Coach Contribution: £75
• Referee Contribution: £125.  Each Junior World Cup squad of 5 or more will require 1 referee and each squad of 10 or more will require 2 referees (or a 1000 euro fine per missing referee). BF, through the ADP, will be subsidising the additional costs of fines/travel where required. Rules around referee quotas and fines can be found on the FIE website here (o.25 and o.31). 
• Additional Coach: £0 (approx. £65 per head subsidy by BF when a coach is provided).
• Staff Costs: £75
• Accommodation: £75/night (normally a minimum of 2 nights, based on sharing). Any additional nights required by fencers they will need to be booked by the individual. When doing this you can ask the hotel to have the same room but please do not alter any BF bookings.
• Administration: £25

Athletes that breach BF Codes of Conduct risk becoming ineligible for future financial subsidies and may be required to refund any grants and subsidies.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
All selections are subject to possession of a British passport/certificate of British Citizenship.

A selection email from Sport80 will follow this post within 24 hours. Please note all places must be accepted within 48 hours of notification from the BF membership platform (Sport80) unless notified otherwise.

All BF Codes of Conduct apply to athletes, parents, coaches and officials and attention are drawn in particular to the Code of Conduct for Youth Events.

Please ensure that you have your Athlete Development Profile available and shared with the ADP Lead Coach in advance for that discussion. Appeals
The BF Appeal Policy and Procedure published here sets out the framework process that will be followed. Athletes have two (2) working days to submit their notices of appeal.
