Three Introduction to Coaching Fencing (ITCF) courses are being added to the 2024 Coach Education calendar, all of them utilising venues provided by the official Have-A-Go partner PGL:

  • ITCF PGL Winmarleigh Hall 23-24.03.2024
  • ITCF Bawdsey, at PGL Bawdsey Manor, Suffolk 30-31.03.2024

Booking forms will be published next week. Please consult the Upcoming Courses page for updates, or contact us on [email protected] if you would like to be contacted directly as soon as they are available. The cost per person is £185, and on both days the course will start at 9am and finish at 5pm.

The partnership with PGL and the benefits it brings to Coach Education candidates:

In 2023, PGL and BF signed a three-year partnership that deepens a long-standing relationship dating back to 2016, when PGL joined the Licensed Partner Programme to deliver in-house fencing training to their staff. The new agreement now includes helping deliver to our We Are Forging Futures programme, creating exciting fencing-based experiences for young people to help them develop confidence and life-long skills. The partnership also involves collaborating towards the development of BF’s workforce, which includes:

Access to 15 PGL centres in the UK:

Allowing BF to expand our Coach Education offer and reach more members looking to get into coaching and support their local fencing communities.

Accommodation and meals:

Reducing the costs involved in getting a coaching qualification. Candidates attending courses can have meals during their stay at PGL centres free of charge. On-site accommodation can also be arranged for candidates who have a valid DBS check (click here to learn more about renewing or applying for one).

Fencing at PGL

Committed to creating experiences for young participants that will educate and develop life skills, PGL has been an invaluable driving force in the expansion of fencing in the UK.

The success of PGL’s fencing programmes includes over 75,000 unique fencing experiences delivered per year, a workforce of almost 2.5k coaches trained by BF in the last decade, and the continuous development of their in-house trainers.

Fencing is part of a large range of activities offered in PGL’s packages, such as the Kids’ Adventure Camps, Family Adventure Breaks and Group Adventure Camps. Visit www.pgl.co.uk to learn more.
