Muslim Scout Fellowship Get Ready for Virtual Olympics

With the second national lockdown upon us, the Muslim Scout Fellowship are getting ready for their Virtual Olympics on Saturday 14th November.

On Saturday 14th November 1000’s of Scouts, Cubs and Beavers will come together virtually, to take part in The Muslim Scout Fellowship Virtual Olympics.

Operating for over 20 years, The Muslim Scout Fellowship (MSF) is the UK’s official body for all Muslim adults who are active in Scouting and are part of the Scout Association in the UK. MSF has grown from 900 members back in 2010, to an incredible 6000 strong membership in 2020.

Over the summer,  BF supported MSF’s online summer camp which was viewed by a staggering 18,000 people from across the world, with Scouts from Canada, Indonesia, Cambodia and Azerbaijan tuning in.  The online event taking place this weekend will again be supported by BF with coach Robina, one of our brilliant coaches from Muslim Girls Fence, running three sessions throughout the day.

As part of the opening ceremony, Ben Peggs will be delivering an inspirational speech, talking about his experience as an athlete, coach and Scout! Ben has been an integral part of BFs free online resource for Scouts, that was developed during the first lockdown, so will be a familiar face to many.

Virginia Bailey, Head of Participation at BF said “It was a pleasure to work with and support the MSF over the summer and we are really excited that fencing proved popular then and that there is a desire for more! Like all Scout groups across the country, they are incredibly committed and I continue to be impressed by their determination to not let the pandemic stop Scouts coming together, whether it be virtually or in Covid safe spaces. We are looking forward to developing our relationship with MSF and ensuring all young people have the opportunity to take part in this brilliant sport.”
