Community Discussion Events COVID-19 Officer

Thank you to all those BF members who took part in last week’s Community Discussion Events dedicated to the role of COVID-19 Officers. We had over 150 individual BF clubs represented and it was great to see so many of those clubs putting aside time to be part of the conversation.

Following our announcement last week that indoor fencing could restart in England, it is as important as ever to be up to date with the latest information and procedures. A reminder, that clubs must now appoint a COVID-19 Officer to act as the primary point of contact for BF, Home Nations, facility/venue operators, and club members. Clubs can now register their COVID-19 Officer on their club membership profile on the BF membership platform. Follow this step by step guide to complete your registration today.

Remember that the COVID-19 Officer must:

  • Be a member of BF
  • Be clearly named on any club website and communicated to all participants.

If the COVID-19 officer is not present during a club session it is expected that another club official will be appointed to fulfil these responsibilities for the duration of the club session. For example, this can be the coach or the welfare officer.

The discussion events covered a lot of content relating to not only the role of a COVID-19 Officer but highlighted all relevant BF resources and help documents to aid clubs as they get back to fencing. Please see the links below that highlight all the key areas clubs should be aware of;
